  • How much does it cost to clean my roof?

    There are many things to consider when providing you with a quote; some of the considerations are: 

    The size of the roof  

    Are all parts of the roof easily accessible, or is specialist access equipment required? 

    The amount of organic matter present, which will also need to be responsibly disposed of. 

    What is on the ground surrounding the property? 

    We can provide online estimates and accurate quotes during site assessments, but as a rule of thumb, a small two-bed bungalow would cost £700, and a large, detached house with a double garage would cost £1500 for a soft clean.

    Our deep cleans start at £795, we advise that you arrange a site survey for an accurate quotation as deep cleaning is much more complex and there are more factors to consider when pricing.


  • How long does a roof clean take?

    Generally, a roof clean on a small to medium-sized residential property will be completed within one day. Larger residential properties may take up to 2 days. Roofs on commercial properties vary depending on the size and complexity.

  • Is the organic matter damaging my roof?

    The Short answer is YES; organic matter on concrete tiles will live off the limestone within the tile, which will cause irreversible erosion. The fibre root systems can also cause tiles to crack and lift, especially in freezing conditions.  

    This all leads to lessening the expected life span of the roof tile.  

  • Is your company insured?

    Vertex Cleaning Solutions LTD is fully insured with £5m worth of public liability cover. You can be further assured of this, given our Checkatrade status. 

  • Do you offer free quotes and site assessments?

    Yes, we provide free no obligations quotes and site assessments.  

  • Is my quote a fixed price?

    Yes, once we have formally given you a written quotation, the price is fixed. 

  • Does anyone need to be home when my roof is being cleaned?

    No, if our team has full access around the property's perimeter and all gates are left unlocked.  

  • What are my payment options?

    Payment is due on completion, and we accept Bank Transfer, Cash or Card  

  • What happens with the waste?

    All waste is removed from the site and responsibly disposed of.  

  • Are the chemicals used harmful to pets and gardens?

    We advise that you stay inside during the treatment application phase of the clean. Our trained team will take the utmost care to ensure that any spills are thoroughly cleaned, and in the rare circumstances of our chemical coming into contact with gardens, our trained team knows what to do to prevent any lasting damage to plants and grass.  

    Once the treatment is applied, all can return to normal.

  • Can you remove the black spot staining?

    Yes black spot staining can be removed using a mix of both pressure washing and chemical treatments.

  • Do you use harmful chemicals?

    There is no need to use anything toxic or overly potent in our soft washing solution. We don't want chemicals running off into your garden or putting anyone or any wildlife at risk.

  • Can you guarantee fast and spotless results?

    We will always do our best to get your roof looking as good as possible. It may not look like new if there is significant damage and staining. But, we will strive to lift as much dirt as possible for an immediately noticeable difference in the tone and cleanliness of the roof.

  • How long will these results last?

    We don't want to start giving any precise guarantees here as each roof is subject to different conditions. Environmental factors could allow for a faster build-up of dirt in some areas than in others. Some properties will see moss grow faster than others. We do aim for you to have a significant improvement that lasts for a least a few years before you need to call us again.

  • Will you remove all the moss?

    Again, we aren't out here to over-promise, and we can't say that 100% of moss will vanish if there are difficult spots. But, we do aim for at least 99% removal.

  • Will you remove all the Lichen?

    Lichen is more problematic to remove by scraping compared to moss. However, we can treat it and within a few months the lichens will die and wash away.
