Residential Patio Clean in Thetford: Case Study

Introduction

This patio cleaning case study was for a job that we carried out at a countryside barn in Norfolk during the freezing cold January weather.

The client had previously used us for both gutter cleaning and roof cleaning in the past and they were keen to see what we could do with their moss covered patio.

Patio Cleaning Challenge Accepted

As a highly valued returning customer we quoted for the patio clean at a very competitive price which the the customer was happy to accept.

We then discussed the best type of patio cleaning methods for their 4o year old patio tiles which where infested with moss, lichen and black spot algae. The job was booked in for the following week.

The Chosen Patio Cleaning Method

Due to the vast build-up of organic material we decided to use a sodium hypochlorite chemical solution to breakdown the moss and black spot spores that was embedded into the tiles.

When using this cleaning method it is imperative that you have the correct personal protective equipment (PPE) as per the chemical safety data sheet.

During the Patio Clean

During the clean there was several challenges, including making sure that the clients' dogs did not run onto the patio during the cleaning. This was because although the chemical solution we applied is good for cleaning it is unpleasant if it comes in contact with skin.

Furthermore, it was one of the coldest days of the year, but that did not stop us because our Vertex Cleaning Solutions team are a hardy bunch of cleaning ninjas. We can absolutely be relied upon to get the job done to a very high standard and safely.

After removing all of the patio furniture and pots and plants, we cracked on with the application of the sodium hypochlorite.

The chemical was left to soak in to the tiles so we took the time to get the pressure washer ready blast off any stubborn moss and lichen.
